Cavendish Lodge Takeover – 10th October

As some of you may know, as part of a joint University Scheme/Connaught Club initiative, we are taking over a failing lodge, Cavendish Lodge No.2620.

In what will be a landmark event for the Club, Cavendish Lodge has its installation meeting on 10th October, with several Committee and Club members taking office (including the Worshipful Master, Senior and Junior Wardens, and Senior and Junior Deacons).

As if a takeover and installation of so many young, Club Masons isn’t exciting enough already, you will also be treated to an initiation of a Candidate for Cavendish on the same evening!

The business of the Lodge will be taken care of earlier in the meeting, before calling off in anticipation of the above mentioned ceremonial work. You can attend both aspects at the earlier time, or attend the ceremonial aspect only. Timings are later in this post.

But wait, there’s more! In order to mark this special occasion, our Chairman has kindly agreed to host us at his club for a champagne reception, three course meal, and plenty of booze for what is an exceptionally low price considering the venue.

You can find the summons linked below, and I will summarise the key details:

Date: Tuesday 10th October

Location: Mark Mason’s Hall, St James’s.

Time: 16:00 for the Lodge Business, calling off, and calling on at 17:10 for the initiation and installation. If attending the ceremonial work only, please still arrive in plenty of time to ensure a smooth transition.

Festive Board: A club in St James’s. £95 (Exceptional value for such an incredible venue, and delicious food and wine!)
